田 rice paddy fields
As far as the eye can see
For the last month or so a lot of people have been madly planting rice & attending to their 田 (rice paddy field). They are EVERYWHERE & getting greener everyday.
As there is (or seems to be?) no town planning or zoning in Japan, industry, business, residential & farming are often side by side.
These two 田 (right & top) are in Okaya.

Twice a week I drive to Tatsuno, about 30 minutes away. There are loads of 田 along the way.
The change in mountain scenery is noticeable every day. What looked dead a few months ago is now thriving with thick green foliage
These 田(photos left & below) are near the Olympus site I teach at in Tatsuno.
