松本城 Matsumoto Castle

At the end of sakura in Matsumoto I visited Matsumoto Castle. The castle itself is quite small & was built to keep the enemy from reaching the top. Because of this, inside I got to climb up & down some very steep & narrow ladder type staircases (in my socks) it was fun!

A friend visited a few days before, on a weekend & complained about the crowds...

I was fortunate enough to visit on a cold Wednesday morning....

Walking around the perimeter of the castle, I felt like I had the place to myself.

The View from the top with sakura in the foreground & the snow capped mountains in the background was spectacular!

The view down to the interior garden was also pretty

Don't say you weren't warned!
